Running Scared by Billi Jean
Series: Love’s Command, Book One
Publisher: Total-E-Bound Publishing
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, Romantic Suspense
Length: 277 pages

Summary:

Book one in the Love’s Command Series

When a woman running scared runs into the arms of a sexy cowboy, she might lose her fear, but will she also lose her heart?

When a woman on the run hits a town right out of the Wild West, the first cowboy she meets sets his sights on her. Alone, scared, and starting over, Susan will have to decide if the big, bad Russell Ryland, retired Navy SEAL, now rancher, is for real or just using up his down time between missions.

Russell takes one look at the smiling, blue-eyed beauty and realises there’s a heck of a lot more after retirement than he’d thought. As he begins to dream of a life with Susan, he fights an unfamiliar battle within himself-doubt. Does she want him, or is she merely out for some fun?

Time for the reluctant couple nearly runs out when the very men Susan is hiding from come to call. Will Russell wake up quickly enough to save her? Or will their doubts get them both killed?

AJ’s Review:

Wowza! Billi Jean has penned a riveting story with engaging characters and enough smoking hot sex to keep this reader’s toes curled in pure, unadulterated pleasure for days. The action is fast-paced, the sexual chemistry between Susan and Russell is explosive, and the suspense is edgy enough to keep the reader enthralled until the very end.

Lacey (aka Susan) is intelligent, sexy, strong, and just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As a result, her life has been turned upside down and now she’s on the run from the Russian mob. But this damsel is no damsel in distress, well, that is until she meets Russell who makes her body tingle in all the right places.

Russell is a sexy alpha who is all male and knows how to kick butt and take names. But even this gorgeous creature has demons of his own to battle, which makes him vulnerable and unable to trust. However, when Russell lays eyes on Susan, all bets are off because this former Navy Seal knows exactly what he wants. While the sex is hot and the danger is palpable, will this dynamic duo’s inability to trust and excess baggage prevent them from finding their Happily Ever After before it’s too late?

Running Scared has everything: humorous, witty dialogue, scorching hot sex, intelligent, strong-willed characters with heart and soul, enough action and danger to keep the reader begging for more, and a complex plot that is entertaining. My only niggle with Running Scared is that the editing could have been better. But overall, Billi Jean has penned one amazing story that has me itching to know what happens next in her Love’s Command series.

“You’re going to kiss me, aren’t you?”

“Yeah, I’m burning, baby. Just a kiss, I swear.” His voice was husky with need.
She made him wait before she gave in to his subtle tug on her hand. Thankfully, his seat was far enough back from the steering wheel that she could fit her tiny body on his lap without having to move the seat back. He wasn’t able to think clearly enough to do more than try to keep her off his cock, let alone worry about a wheel digging into her curves.

“Are you burning a little, honey?” he asked, then slowly lowered her onto his lap. She straddled him easily, as if she belonged there. He kept her off his aching groin with a willpower he hadn’t known he had. Cradling the back of her silky head, he brought his other arm tightly around her waist and pulled her to his chest, slowly lowering his mouth to hers.

The first slow glide was so good it was like coming home, only he’d never had a home. But if he had, God, this would be it. She was so hot that the kiss burned into his brain, erasing any other kiss from his memory. A low groan escaped before he could hold it in, but he kept his kiss gentle, soft and light until he felt the tension slowly ease out of her back and neck. She reminded him of a nervous colt, ready to lunge away at any sudden moves. And he needed fast and hard, but he slowed down, concentrating on her flavour, her sweetness and the velvet heat they were creating.

When she eased against him even more, he licked her mouth gently, tilting his head to fit his mouth firmly over hers. The first taste of her was electrifying. It wasn’t sweet or soft, it was pure sex. So fantastic, he forgot everything but his tongue sliding into warm sunshine. She tasted like the ice cream they’d shared, but wicked and all woman. Her tongue met his exploring mouth and hot white desire flooded him. She moaned and her hands came up to shift through his hair, scratching along his scalp with just the right amount of burn. His cock swelled so tight under his jeans, she had to feel it. He shoved the demands for more down, too caught up in what felt like the first real kiss he’d ever had to ruin it with more than Susan was already giving him. Holy hell, she tasted good. The woman could kiss. She kissed him like no one ever had.

He pulled her closer. Her full breasts pressed against his chest and, God, what he wouldn’t do to have both of those beauties in his hands right now.

He lifted his mouth from her lips reluctantly, but he had to see her face. She was beyond beautiful, so warm and giving he was close to an orgasm. Her pink, swollen lips parted, and she blinked her blue eyes open. “Mmm, Russell.”

“Damn, honey, you taste like sunshine.” He breathed her in and took her mouth with another hungry kiss. He was on the edge of losing control. He could feel his thighs tense, his stomach muscles clench, but he wasn’t ending this. Not now that he finally had it.

He’d never been a kisser. Sex was hot, long and wet. But he’d not been heavy on kissing. This was more erotic than any sex he’d ever had, in so many ways. He was lost to it. And, thank God, so was Susan. She pressed against his body, touching his jaw with her fingers before skimming those beautiful hands down his neck and shoulders. She caressed her way down his arms, then back up again to mould her hands around his shoulders and back.

They seemed to melt into one another, then. He couldn’t get her close enough. She seemed to think the same thing and wrapped her small arms around his neck, leaning into him completely. Their tongues met and stroked, teased and lingered until he was breathless. He felt the beginnings of an orgasm building, and had to clench his thighs and pull back slowly, or he’d have to let it go and spill down his jeans like some teenager with his first date.

Breaking the kiss slowly, he looked down at her and realised two things. One—he could never get enough of kissing this woman. And two—he had pulled her down on his lap and she was sitting firmly on his erection. There was no way she couldn’t feel it. When her eyes opened, his cock jumped. Her eyes widened and she sucked in a breath, easing back to look down.

“Sorry, baby…”

“Oh, Russell, that was… That is… Oh!” She eased back even more and rubbed her hands over his shoulders and chest, while her face stayed hidden, looking down at his cock outlined in his jeans like some flashlight in his pants.

His heart was pounding so fast, she must have been able to hear it. She should slap him. Yell. Jump off him. He deserved it. He’d taken her out one time, asked—no, told her he was going to kiss her, then ground her down on his cock.

She raised her head and whispered, “Russell, I think you like kissing me.”

Relief flooded him. “Ah, hell…”

Her blue eyes danced with a mixture of excitement and mischief. He knew right then and there that he was a lost man. Leaning forward, she ran her hands over his chest and up, teasing him even more by leaning forward so they were a breath apart.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah, but I, I mean, we don’t have to do more.” God, that came out of his mouth and both his brains were screaming ‘yeah, we do, you idiot!’

She leaned in and kissed him again, gently caressing his mouth with hers. God, he was going to lose it. “Or we can go in…”

To the bedroom. Suddenly, an image of sex with her flashed through his mind, hot, wet and so good. Would she be upset afterwards? She might regret it. She was a little standoffish still, not as hot as he was by any means, and he sensed something else that his lust-filled brain was trying to tell him. She seemed shy with her kisses. They were driving him to a whole new level of arousal, but, , he needed to be the one to put a brake on this because she would be upset if this moved in the direction his body needed.

He pulled her head closer, cupping her beautiful face with both hands, and took her mouth again in a long, lingering kiss, but kept it soft and gentle even though it was killing him.

Raising his head, he tucked his face in her silky hair and inhaled. She smelt so good—a flowery, female scent that seemed to both relax him and make his cock jump. Her body moulded to his, soft in all the right places. She felt completely right in his arms. Perfect.

Controlling the Burn by Tonya Ramagos

Controlling the Burn by Tonya Ramagos
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand Publishing
Genre: GLBT, Contemporary, Erotic Romance, M/M
Length: 92 pages

Summary:

Drew Ward knows how to keep his head in the game and, now that he’s accomplished his mission to become one of the elite Loveland Smoke Jumpers, he’s turning his attention to the man he’s wanted nearly half his life. Seasoned smoke jumper Wesley Payton might be twenty years older, but he’s one hotbed of perfection Drew aims to have, and he won’t stop his pursuit until Wesley belongs to him.

Wesley has avoided being caught alone with Drew for six weeks, but he hasn’t managed to evade the fire burning inside him for the younger man. Drew is sinfully sexy, dangerously tempting, and Wesley knows if he lets the man get too close he’ll be toast. But Drew isn’t a man who backs off easily, and when Wesley suddenly finds himself in the man’s arms, he knows he’s parachuted into a wildfire he won’t be able to control.

Lasha’s Review:

Who doesn’t love a good firefighter romance novel? Tonya Ramagos doesn’t disappoint with her new book, Controlling the Burn. Rookie smoke jumper Drew Ward had just landed his dream job and now wants to win the man who he’s had a crush on for years, Wesley Payton. Yes, there may be a twenty year age difference between the two men and Wesley knew Drew’s father – they were smoke jumpers together before he died – but the chemistry simmering between the two men cannot be denied. With fire season starting will Drew finally get his man?

In the past, I’ve been drawn into buying a firefighter novel with a good blurb and a pretty cover, only to be disappointed when I read the book. That is not the case with Controlling the Burn. The story is excellent, I love a good May-December romance and the overall realism of the book gets high marks too. In some scenes I really felt as if I was there with Drew fighting fires! Add in some scorching love scenes, an intriguing back story with Wesley having been friends with Drew’s deceased father and this novel hit all my buttons.

So, if you like sexy firemen, one younger guy on a mission to seduce the object of his desire and an interesting storyline, then Controlling the Burn is the book for you! Recommended.

Dealing with the Past by Toni Griffin

Dealing with the Past by Toni Griffin
Series: The Thompson Agency Book #2
Publisher: Silver Publishing
Genre: GLBT, Contemporary, Erotic Romance, M/M
Length: 152 pages

Summary:

When Aiden goes to the Thompson Agency for help saying goodbye to his ex-lover, the last person he expected to find was Jackson, his high school bully. On the other hand, Jackson didn’t expect to find out that Aiden was his mate.

Aiden Montgomery’s lover died unexpectedly at work. His boss, Noah, suggests he go to the Thompson Agency to help him say goodbye. What Aiden didn’t expect was to run into someone from his past. Someone he never wanted to set eyes on again.

Jackson Thompson has worked hard to change his ways and attitude towards others. When his most recent client refuses to work with him he’s baffled as to why. Finding out Aiden is his mate throws Jackson for a loop, realising he’s the same person Jackson bullied in high school could mean the end to his mating before it even began.

But someone doesn’t want Aiden’s ex raised from the dead.

Evelise’s Review:

Dealing with the Past delivered emotional turmoil as two lost souls finally were able to come together to rectify a past that had caused internal damage. Aidan Montgomery had been bullied and tormented throughout high school. Jackson Thompson was part of the bullying crowd. Years later, Aidan sought out the Thompson Agency in order to say good bye to his recently deceased lover. When he sees Jackson, Aidan sees red and storms from the agency, but not before Jackson touches him and realizes Aidan Montgomery is his mate.

Jackson has no idea why Aidan stormed from the agency. All he knows is that his mate is walking out of his life. Toni Griffin delivered a story of love and trust from beginning to end. I admired Aidan’s resilience in survival and also Jackson’s willingness to acknowledge his faults and rectify them.

Ms. Griffin gave the reader romance and not just sex. The characters developed throughout the story  and achieved personal growth. Ms. Griffin’s characterization of Jackson dealt with inner demons that needed to be expunged and the only way to accomplish this was to romance his mate, slow and easy, while forgiving himself of his past digressions. Jackson Thompson was a man anyone could fall in love with. And Aidan Montgomery did. I adored Aidan’s spirit and his ability to make his mate work for the relationship sans being overly coy or leading Jackson on. The men were truly the other half of their soul.

Toni Griffin melded two very different personalities, created a beautiful love story and delivered a wonderful read. I look forward to reading more about the Thompson Family in the Thompson Agency Series.

Deb’s Review:

Kim Dare has got it going on! Waking Up Naked is an emotionally sexy read that I could not put down. All I have to say is Thank you, for giving us some Awww moments between Carl and Miles.

Even though Carl is such a doll, I will admit that I wanted to slap him a few times throughout the book.*g* True to heart, you could feel how lost Carl was and his need to regain back the one night that changed his world.

There is no doubt that Miles the Mighty (My Nickname) is the Dom of this relationship, but I felt his insecurities as well, which in truth made his character more real for me. He comes off gruff, but for me the underlining intent of his role placed him in my top 10 of favorite Dom’s.

What Miles and Carl share together is both sweet and powerful. Trust when I say you will not walk away untouched after reading this book.

Even though there were secondary characters, none played a big role in the main structure of the plot, which had it all, outstanding characters, a few hot sexy scenes to make you drool and finally a story that grabs you up and makes you melt.

Kim Dare is much like her books, sassy, sinfully sexy and leaves you coming back for more.

Lynx in the Blood by S. A. Welsh is a great sequel to Jaguar Mate. Jay and Kyle’s relationship grows deeper in this book. We learn a lot more about Jay what lives inside him.

We also learn more about Kyle’s family and a major loss they still struggle with. But while rescuing kidnapped shifters and fighting the hunters, they discover something that will have a major impact on what happens next for Jay and Kyle.

Golden by Sean Michael

Golden by Sean Michael
Publisher: Torquere Press
Genre: Erotic Contemporary, GLBT, M/M
Length: 211 pages

Summary:

Four years ago, after winning Olympic medals gold, Justin retired from swimming, and he’s been floundering ever since. For years swimming was everything, but his Coach waved him off once he’d retired. The Fourth of July finds him contemplating doing something stupid, so Justin calls up Coach. To his surprise, Chris answers.

When Justin retired, Chris cut all ties with the swimmer he’d fallen in love with, wanting to make sure that Justin didn’t stay with him as a lover just because it was the easy thing. He’s been waiting for a long time for Justin to come back to him, so when Justin calls, he immediately offers to let Justin back into his life, and into his arms.

When he finds out that Justin is lost, drowning in a pool of self-doubt and the belief that his happy years are behind him, Chris realizes maybe he made a mistake letting go so suddenly. He brings Justin to his home, and gives in to the urges they’ve ignored for a long time. Now Chris can love Justin, give him rules and structure that Justin needs. As long as he can convince Justin that it’s really love. Can Justin and Chris put the last four years behind them and find themselves a golden moment?

Evelise’s Review:

Golden by Sean Michael delivers everything that I expect in a Sean Michael book. Justin, Olympic gold medalist is lost in his own head since retiring from swimming. His ex-coach and friend Chris has always pined for the young man but never entertained the thoughts as Justin was his pupil. Although the book had the feel of older/younger relationship, in actuality Chris was only a few years older than Justin, Chris being in his mid-thirties and Justin late twenties. Chris though was worldlier and forward thinking in his skin.

Justin finds himself drowning in his life, working at a job he hates and drinking his days away. What he needs is Chris and one fateful evening he makes the call to his ex-coach. Once the call is made the story erupts into a sensual tale of love and longing.

Sean Michael adds all the elements that I look for in his novels. A Dom/sub relationship with more of a domestic discipline twist and sizzling sex. The story is about longing and suffering as Mr. Michael characterized Justin as a tortured soul, one in which those that feel like they have no purpose in life, could relate to. At times I was irritated with Chris’s character as I felt that his justification in not contacting Justin was self-indulgent and self-centered. Once though, he realized the error of his lack of communication, he went forth with full gusto to wrap Justin in safety and love.

As always, it would not be a Sean Michael novel if there wasn’t hot, steamy sex and Golden ramps it up. Each scene left me breathless and energized, as I awaited the next sexual encounter between our main characters. A must for any lover of sexy men and the ferocity of their bond.

The Healing of Idrys by TN Tarrant

The Healing of Idrys by TN Tarrant
Publisher: Silver Publishing
Genre: GLBT, Menage, Contemporary, Erotic Romance, M/M/M
Length: 230 pages

Summary:

Hadrian and Reilly meet over two puppies and a kitten. Now they want to include Idrys. Will they convince him it’s not a crime to be with them, or will Idrys’ family destroy any chance they have for life together?

Idrys Barber is a lonely, closeted man, whose life is completely ordered and controlled by his parents, until his sister files a complaint with the DA. Add to that, Reilly Lucas invades the dreams that plague him, along with Hadrian Merkel. Hadrian and Reilly meet over a pair of Boston Terrier puppies and a black kitten, dating each other and now they want to include Idrys, but will they convince him it’s not a crime to be together with them, or will Idrys’ further destroy any chance they have for a good life together?

Evelise’s Review:

The Healing of Idrys by TN Tarrant is a tender story of finding and belonging. Ms. Tarrant weaves a tale of three very diverse men, each carrying their own burdens, while attempting to forge a ménage relationship. Hadrian and Reilly are dating when sexy and shy animal control officer Idrys stumbles into their lives. The men are attracted to Idrys and want him to be a part of their loving relationship.

Hadrian, Reilly, and Idrys are very different and each brings something unique and special to the relationship; stoic Reilly, fun-loving Hadrian and emotionally scarred Idrys.

The Healing of Idrys was a journey of self-reflection and self-awareness. Idrys has been told all of his life that homosexuality is a crime and a sin. Ms. Tarrant delivers an emotionally stunted young man that through the love and guidance of Hadrian and Reilly learns to accept himself as a gay man and the societal unconventional relationship of three men together.

The story provided sensual sex that slowly builds adding depth and trust. Ms. Tarrant does not rush any sexual encounter as it would have been displaced in a story of discovery, thus negating the reality of the situation.

Grab a box of tissues because this tale is not for the faint of heart. The Healing of Idrys will leave you emotionally raw and bewildered by the stunted logic of others. Having said that, the story also shows that love and trust can truly heal, when one is willing to take a chance on love, true happiness can be achieved.

A truly heart-warming and beautiful romance.

DDR Red Carpet & Giveaway Presents: Under Pressure by Laurie Roma

Under Pressure by Laurie Roma
Series: IAD Agency, Book One
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, Suspense
Length: 218 pages

Amazon Kindle Barnes and Noble Nook Bookstrand

Summary:

[Siren Classic: Erotic Romantic Suspense, HEA]

Jason MacBain is the perfect agent. Tall, dark, and deadly, he is a man who lives by simple rules—kill the bad guys and protect the world. Closed off from his emotions, Jason has never believed in love and doesn’t need anyone. But all that changes the night he meets Bella Moretti…

Isabella Moretti is a famous chef struggling to reclaim her life after she survives a vicious attack. Moving back to Chicago to recover and be closer to her family, Bella meets Jason and is frightened by the passion he stirs inside her. But now that Jason has found Bella, he is determined to claim her as his. And when her stalker reappears, Jason is under pressure to gain her trust, find a way to keep her safe, and do whatever it takes to end the threat to her for good.

Bella is forced to trust Jason with her safety, but does she dare trust him with her heart?

AJ’s Review:

Ms. Roma quickly draws the reader into this riveting story as our hero and heroine have a less than stellar meeting at a stuffy auction that’s boring them to death. Desperate to leave, Bella and Jason embark on a sensual journey that encompasses unbridled lust, uninhibited sex, and a promise to do it all over, again and again. :)

Isabella Moretti is being terrorized by a stalker. While she survived him once, will she be able to survive him the second time around when he suddenly pops up in her life again? Although Bella still suffers nightmares at the hands of her tormentor, she’s a strong, feisty, sexy woman who is trying to regain a semblance of normalcy in her life. What she didn’t plan on was an alpha male who’s body makes her blood boil and who’s accent makes her heart sore with passion. Their initial meeting and the anger that is evoked is simply a form of foreplay for this dynamic couple that will keep you hot and breathless throughout the story.

Jason McBain is all alpha. He’s intelligent, sexy, fierce, dangerous, and protects what’s his. And believe me when I say that Bella is his in body, heart and soul. I love stories that incorporate the love at first sight trope into the plot and that’s definitely the case with Jason and Bella as they embark on a journey that will change both of their lives forever.

The secondary characters were absolutely awesome. I loved Tara, Liz, Sal, Danny, Tony, Finn, the twins and the rest of the misfits. It’s obvious that these men and women care about one another and will do whatever they deem necessary when one of the members in their inner circle is in danger. The witty banter, intense drama, fast-paced action and scorching hot love scenes are only a few of the things that kept me engrossed in Under Pressure until the very end. I must admit that I can’t wait to read the next book in the series because I want to know if Sal and Liz finally give into the sexual chemistry that’s simmer below the surface when they look at or touch one another. I’d also like to see how Jenny handles the twins, Rock and Adrian. :) My only niggle with Under Pressure is the editing. While it wasn’t enough to deter me from the compelling plot that Ms. Roma has crafted, it could have been better. I love a good villain and Victor Bane definitely met the criteria. However, other than him being completely psychotic, I would have liked a little more insight into his psyche to gain a better understanding of what created his obsession with Bella.

Under Pressure is a tantalizing story with complex, passionate characters who are genuine, crisp dialogue that’s believable, fast-paced action that will keep your heart racing, and smoldering hot sex that will leave you panting breathlessly even after the story has come to end. I loved the men and women of IAD and can’t wait to see what Ms. Roma has in store for them next. So, if you haven’t picked up a copy of Under Pressure by Laurie Roma, then do so today.

Bella was tight, so tight she fit him like a glove. Feeling her pussy grip down on his cock almost made him spill himself inside her, but he needed this to last. Holding himself still, he waited until he felt her body relax around him. No matter how many times they made love, Jason was always careful to go slow at the start. To feel out what her body told him. Every muscle in his body tightened as he held himself under control, careful not to hurt her.

“Touch me. Don’t stop touching me,” Bella pleaded.

“God, I am, love. I won’t stop. I can’t.”

He slowly pulled out of her tight pussy and then pushed back in, starting a slow sensuous ride while he placed soft kisses on her shoulder, making her moan. One big hand caressing her breast while the other stroked over her abdomen, holding her back against his hard chest. Whimpering in frustration, Bella tried to speed up the pace as Jason’s long thick cock continued to glide inside her wet warmth slowly.

“Easy, love. I’m too big. You have to relax more.” He turned her head to nip at her lush lower lip, and she jerked his head down to capture his mouth with hers.

Relaxing the muscles of her pussy over his cock, she tried to throw her hips back at him as forcefully as she could.

He hissed at the pressure and gripped her hip hard with his hand, trying to stop her. “Bloody hell, Bella, baby, we have to go slow—”

“No, not slow. Hard. I want to come. I’m so close, please, please.”

Jason’s hand went down to play across her clit, wanting her to come so he could stop worrying about hurting her. His body tight with need, he forced himself to continue his slow pace when everything inside him demanded that he fuck himself into her. He wanted to pound himself deep, so deep she would never get him out. He lightly pinched the small nub as he continued to push his cock slowly into her until he was wedged up to her cervix.

“Come then. Come for me, love. Let me feel you go over for me,” his deep voice rumbled.

She tried to fight it, but he was relentlessly playing her body like an instrument. His fingers continued to rub her clit, making her gasp. She tried once again to speed up the rhythm, causing Jason’s breath to hiss out in pleasure and frustration.

“Come, Bella. Don’t fight it, just let go. Dammit come for me. Come now.” Jason’s deep voice was tight with lust and was enough to spark Bella’s body into overdrive.

Her body burst.

Bella let out a keening cry as fire swept through her and flames of pleasure licked through her entire body. She came and exploded with passion, but still it wasn’t what she wanted. She wanted, no, needed to feel him let go. She needed him to be with her, all the way.

Jason could feel the muscles of her tight pussy clench down on his cock, her shudders increasing the pressure until he swore his cock was being strangled in her tight sheath. He pushed his throbbing shaft deep as he rode out her orgasm, using small jabs and keeping pressure on her clit to heighten her pleasure.

He pulled out until only the head of his cock was lodged inside her and forged his was back inside her to the hilt, testing her readiness now. He could fuck her now, pump his hard cock inside her slick pussy in a hard pounding like he needed to now, but he forced himself to stop. That wasn’t what she needed, especially after last night’s nightmare.

She was slick with her own cream now, her body dripping with her desire, and his cock continued to slide inside her welcoming heat with a slow steady rhythm. His hand reached down and gripped her leg to hold her open for him. He slid his other hand over her breast, again pinching and rolling her nipple between his fingers as he struggled not to spill himself yet.

Bella turned her head and her mouth sought his. She nipped and sucked at his tongue, driving him mad with pleasure. Bella felt the yearning growing again, building deep inside her, sharp and urgent. The feel of him inside her made her burn with passion, the need to feel him with her, more, always. Desire sparked and heated, turning the need into something she would die for.

She wanted more.

She wanted everything.

Bella set his body on fire, and the flames of need grew into a firestorm that threatened his control. The tip of his cock wept his arousal, throbbing with the urgent need to fuck into her welcoming body hard and fast. His body screamed for release, but still he held back.

“Bella, easy, love—”

Temper had Bella snapping, “I need you, Jason. Stop treating me like I’m made of glass. I need you. Hard. Now. Please fuck me.”

Jason stopped with his cock embedded deep within her. When he failed to move, Bella struggled, trying to get him to release her but unable to loosen his hold. “Bella. I don’t want to hurt you. Just let me love you.”

She let out a shriek of frustration. “Why can’t you see that you don’t have to treat me like I’m going to break? Dammit, I don’t need your protection when we’re in bed. Either treat me like a woman or let me go.”

Already on edge, anger collided with raw desire in his system and had him growling. “Let you go? Never, baby, do you fucking hear me? Never. You want me to treat you like a woman? You are my woman.”

“Then prove it,” Bella snapped back.

Jason simply felt his tight control break. It was as if the imaginary shackles he had placed on himself had simply dissolved, leaving the wild beast free. He rolled her over onto her stomach, placing his muscled thighs between hers. He used his legs to spread her wide to accommodate his large body. The need burned white hot and demanded to be sated. He brought her hips up and back without dislodging his cock from inside her, and with a ragged breath he gritted out, “Jesus, love, hold on. Fuck, just hold on.”

AJ’s Review:

Eden Bradley quickly draws the reader into the sensual, intense world of Skye and Adam. From the moment they meet, the sexual chemistry is off the charts, as these two negotiate the terms of Skye’s submission.

Skye is intelligent, adventurous, sexy, and curious about the BDSM world, but she needs to be in control. I found it interesting that during their initial meeting, Skye was somewhat detached from the situation given the turmoil her body was experiencing from the moment she laid eyes on Adam. While her mind kept insisting that this was an experiment for the sake of art, her body was on fire with all of the delicious possibilities laid before her at the strong, willing hands of Adam. It was obvious that his power and confidence as a Dom acted as an aphrodisiac for Skye.

Adam is sexy, intelligent, kind, articulate and all alpha. He exudes power and makes no apologies for his love of kink. I loved how upfront he was with Skye in regards to what he expected out of a D/s relationship. His patience and willingness to explain the experience and Skye’s submissive urges was honest and genuine. However, I couldn’t help but wonder about his emotional distance as well because the emotional connection and trust between a Dom and a submissive are integral parts of a successful BDSM relationship.

As the story progressed, Ms. Bradley allowed the reader to watch each character struggle with their desires and emotional discord. My only niggle is that I would have liked more in depth detail in regards to what had happened between Skye, her father and some of her other lovers to make her feel as though she had to be in control all the time. I get that her father was an alcoholic, but I kept getting the sense that there was more to that story that wasn’t being said. As for Adam, I understand his tragedy as well and will leave it at that because I don’t want to spoil the story, but it seemed like it took too long to unveil his situation given the short length of the story. I know that this is the second revision of Breaking Skye and a lot of the holes were filled which is great, but there were still a few minor editing problems. However, there weren’t enough editing errors to deter me from the story.

The intense passion and sexual scenes between Skye and Adam will make your mouth water, especially if you enjoy reading BDSM books. Their connection with one another was undeniable as these two quickly fell head-over-heels in love with one another. The reader is quickly swept into their intense world of pain and pleasure as all parties involved, even those of us who were experiencing Skye and Adam’s sensual foreplay from a distance, gained a better understand of Skye’s submissive tendencies and Adam’s boundaries that were quickly being redefined with each sexual encounter. It was amazing to watch Skye and Adam in action because it was as though these two were meant to be together and had been for years. Their bodies and emotions fed off of one enough to the point that each character couldn’t deny that they were sexually fulfilled and hungry for more. But it’s that hunger that puts both characters emotionally at risk.

Breaking Skye by Eden Bradley is a well-written story with engaging characters who are well-developed. The dialogue is fresh and believable, the emotions are tumultuous, and the fears are palpable. The BDSM scenes are intense, yet sensual and the passion is explosive and the love these two quickly discover for one another is endearing. Although there were a few secondary characters, Esme, Skye’s cousin and Shaye, Adam’s friend, Ms. Bradley kept the primary focus of the story on Skye and Adam. However, I must admit that I felt as though I had missed something during Adam and Shaye’s conversation that had hinted toward a previous book, especially when Shaye referred to his struggles with winning Devin’s heart and submission. Overall, Breaking Skye is an enjoyable read that readers of BDSM is going to love. The revision to the story helped increased the development of the characters as well as the depth of the book, especially on an emotional level. So, if you haven’t picked up the extended version of Breaking Skye by Eden Bradley you’re definitely missing out.

The Vampire Contract by RJ Scott

The Vampire Contract by RJ Scott
Publisher: eXtasy Books
Genre: GLBT, M/M, Paranormal, Erotic Romance
Length: 131 pages

Summary:

Vampire Micah Jamieson is found guilty of killing his human husband. He runs from the execution he is facing to get home. He just has to pray he’ll reach home before supernatural law enforcement, in the shape of a Glitnir Court Retriever close in on him.

Wolf shifter and Retriever, Connor Strand easily captures Micah and he’s fully prepared to take the runaway in. But his wolf has other ideas. Something about Micah challenges Connor and his long held beliefs.

What if Micah is actually innocent? Will Connor put to one side his own prejudices, and then risk both his life and career to keep Micah safe?

Evelise’s Review:

The Vampire Contract by R.J. Scott is book one in her newest series Supernatural Bounty Hunters. The story delivers action, suspense and romance, coupled with some very manly shifters. Micah is a vampire accused of killing his human husband. On the run, Retriever Connor Strand is sent by the High Council to bring Micah in so that he may be tried and put to death for his crime. Of course all of that should be easy for the wolf shifter, but nothing worth anything is ever easy in life.

Connor’s wolf has decided that his life mate is the accused vampire and now Connor and Micah must come to terms with the revelation that they may be in this predicament for the long haul.

Ms. Scott delivers a beautifully set story that lays the foundation for more episodes to come. Micah and Connor are both very proud and stoic creatures, both rooted in tradition; a tradition that normally does not condone inter-species relations. The dynamics between Micah and Connor was heart-felt and loving; even if at first they did not see eye to eye. Ms. Scott allowed for the two main characters to build on the bond in order to form their relationship. Humor was interspersed throughout the story, which lent itself to the impishness of both Connor and Micah and of course eventually love. Ms. Scott avoided the traditional trap of shifter finds mate and immediately a roll in the sack ensues. Sometimes a story needs a build-up so that a bond of trust can form, and Ms. Scott delivers that bond.

I look forward to many more books in this series, expanding on the relationship of Micah and Connor and Micahs’ twin Joseph. I definitely recommend reading The Vampire Contract.

Tempestuous by Nicole Austin

Tempestuous by Nicole Austin
Publisher: Ellora’s Cave
Genre: Erotic Contemporary Romance, BDSM
Length: 121 pages

Summary:

Once a woman’s deepest, darkest desires have been exposed—whetting her appetite for taboo pleasures of the flesh—her unquenchable hungers will not be denied.

Floggers and whips

Chains and leather restraints

Erotic rewards and punishments…oh my!

Seduced by erotic stories and the forbidden lure of Dominance and submission, Evie Sloan longs to explore the scintillating delights firsthand. While some fantasies are better left to the imagination, for the chance to visit a real BDSM club, she’s willing to take a risk.

Been there, done that, seen it all—or so jaded Dominant Niko Kovalenko thought. Evie’s arrival on the scene reawakens long-dormant passions and ramps them up to a whole new level. She’s an exciting challenge, a dangerous temptation, igniting the compulsion to posses. To collar.

Evie is no man’s submissive pet. Niko strips her bare, sheds light on all her secret desires and weaknesses, but it’s still not enough for him. To win her man, she’ll have to confront her fears and find a way to bridge the distance between them.

Susan’s Review:

Where, oh where, is Niko Kovalenko when you need him? One hot Dominant male enters submissively curious Evie’s world and it will never be the same. Attending a BDSM conference out of curiosity, led Evie to meet a practicing Dominant/Submissive couple who take her under their wing. Heading off to a mysterious club in town, they invite her knowing full well she won’t be able to resist the temptation.

And that is where all of the fun begins! Within seconds of entering the hotel lobby to meet the group, Evie runs into the quiet, reserved, desirable, and dangerously sexy Niko. He is blown away by his reaction to her and knows she will be under his spell and body soon. His character was palpable, his actions and reactions in total alignment with the powerful man he is. Women flock at his feet and he gives his attention to whomever he pleases. At the moment, Evie is the object of his desires…. and man, does he have desires!

I loved Evie’s innocence and determination to learn about what was causing her insides to tingle. Her rookie mistakes at the club were perfect as they showed the true spunky person that she was deep inside. Watching her unveil the woman underneath was a delight as Nicole Austin skillfully wove an erotic tale of discovery of one’s true self. Tempestuous will keep you on the edge of your seat as you experience Niko, a man like no other.

Once Upon A Time In Bliss by Sophie Oak

Once Upon A Time In Bliss by Sophie Oak
Series: Nights in Bliss, Colorado Prequel
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, BDSM, Western Cowboys
Length: 74,703 word count

Summary:

[Siren Everlasting Classic: Erotic Consensual BDSM Cowboy Romance, spanking, whipping, sex toys, HEA]

Come back in time to Bliss’s first happily ever after…

CIA operative John Bishop arrived in Bliss, Colorado, seeking a respite from the high-stakes game of blood and lies that sent him to the worst corners of the world. A week playing the role of vacationing professor Henry Flanders would recharge his batteries, especially if he found a submissive plaything to occupy his time.

Nell Finn has spent her life focused on helping others, but when she meets the tall and mysterious Henry Flanders, she can’t stop imagining what he might do for her. When Nell and her mother are threatened, Henry comes to her, offering his protection and comfort.

But as the threats escalate out of control, Henry discovers that the beautiful and innocent Nell is much more than a plaything. Can he save the woman he loves without exposing the secrets that would drive her away?

A Siren Erotic Romance

Sophie Oak is a Siren-exclusive author.

Susan’s Review:

I truly love all of Sophie Oak’s books about Bliss, Colorado as well as the offshoots in Texas. If you have been reading them in order, you know that with the last story ending practically in Nell and Henry’s backyard, that these two were destined for their own prequel. Henry is definitely one tough hombre who knows how to protect what is his, and that includes the citizens of Bliss.

Nell has always been quirky and that is what has made her lovable. She takes on any cause that protects animals, people, and the earth and is downright hilarious. We have always had a few glimpses of Henry, but nothing that really hinted as to who he was or what he was capable of. His sex appeal, toughness, and love for Nell literally flew off the pages.

Catching a glimpse at characters we have grown to love was an added treat as well as the tie in with her paranormal Faery series. Ms. Oak is a masterful story teller and is the prima donna in the family tree business! She intertwines characters and their lives almost magically.

I really enjoyed reading Once Upon a Time in Bliss but it honestly is not my favorite. While I enjoyed seeing the other Bliss characters before they met their beloveds, they almost stole from Henry and Nell’s story because I found myself remembering details from their books where they acted similarly or saying “ahh hah” when I realized a facet of their own character was being born. Henry and Nell are as unique as the town they live in and after reading their beginning, you will have an even greater appreciation for them than you did before.

Summary:

[Siren Ménage Everlasting: Erotic Cowboy Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, consensual BDSM, public exhibition, spanking, sex toys, HEA]

For Leo Meyer, being the Dom in residence at The Club has been a perfect life. A strict daily routine free from emotional attachment has been safe and comfortable. But when the only woman he ever loved walks back into his life, his world is turned upside down.

Wolf Meyer has been restless since an injury ended his career in the Navy SEALs. Hoping to reconnect with his brother Leo, Wolf accepted a job with Julian Lodge. His first assignment is to train Shelley McNamara, a gorgeous sub with a troubled past.

Shelley came to The Club to forge a new life and heal her wounded heart. She never dreamed that exploring her dark fantasies with her new Master would leave her caught between two brothers.

When Shelley’s life is threatened, the Meyer brothers will have to work together and use all their training to save her life and claim her heart.

Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among siblings.

A Siren Erotic Romance

Susan’s Review:

If you have read any of Sophie Oak’s Bliss books, then you know that one of the reasons she is so talented at what she does is how she seamlessly blends characters from other books together and keeps them all interacting with each other in a highly entertaining woven web. Siren in Bloom will not let you down.

We have watched dark, deadly, and delicious Leo Meyer rescue Shelley’s brother and brother-in-law and now we get to watch him rescue himself as he sets out to savor and seduce Shelley while readjusting to his kid brother, Wolf. I found Leo intense and interesting before, but nothing could have prepared me for this hidden, undiscovered side of Julian Lodge’s famous Dom trainer.

Kid brother, Wolf, is not too shabby himself. While we had met him in Bliss, he truly comes to life right before our eyes in Siren in Bloom. Brothers, same mother, equally different personalities, come together with just the right combination of sin, sex, and sacrifice. Shelley appeared a bit mousy before, but she has turned into a woman who knows who she wants and is ready to go the distance to find her happiness.

Keeping with tradition, you will reacquaint yourself with characters that will keep you waiting on pins and needles for their books to hit the presses. Hats off to Ms. Oak on yet another Siren book that you won’t be able to stop reading!
